Every change is terrifying, but it is also in human nature to grow only through change.
The start of the AI era has left many confused, overwhelmed, and skeptical. Why? Because the use of AI is changing the way we work, the way we think, the way we create. And ultimately, it directly impacts the quality of our lives.
But the “negative feelings” aren’t really about AI itself. They come from our fear that we can’t learn, or can’t learn fast enough, or won’t be able to keep up as the world shifts around us.
The speed of adoption is faster than anything we’ve seen in recent decades. That gap—between fear and action—is exactly what defines who adapts and who falls behind.
That’s why we started the Learner Spotlight: to introduce the fearless, action-driven, and dedicated people who have already joined AIatWork. Their stories show that learning AI isn’t reserved for tech insiders, it’s for anyone willing to take the leap. And if they can do it, so can you.

Meet Ilija Kiroski, Head of Partnerships at Semos Cloud.
Ilija has built his career around partnerships and innovation—always with people at the center. But when it came to AI, he knew that simply talking about it wasn’t enough. To stay credible with clients, partners, and his own team, he had to start applying it in practice.
Why do you think people in Macedonia should learn AI now and not in two years?
Ilija:
“Because we’re entering a moment where AI is no longer a ‘future add-on’ but a core capability that defines competitiveness—especially in HR tech, where customer expectations around personalization, transparency, and efficiency are accelerating.
To remain credible with partners, clients, and my own team, I need to not just talk about AI but apply it in practice. Markets, technologies, and even customer demands shift fast. The only way to stay ahead is to continually re-skill.
I’ve built a career around partnerships and innovation, and expanding my AI skillset now allows me to connect the dots faster, co-create better solutions, and help customers realize value more quickly.”
Why do you think people in Macedonia should learn AI now and not in two years?
Ilija:
“Because two years means falling behind. AI is not a future trend—it is already reshaping industries, education, healthcare, and even how governments operate.
Countries and companies that adopt AI early are building the skills, infrastructure, and competitive edge that will define the next decade.”
If you had to describe AIatWork in one word, what would it be?
Ilija:
“Augmentation.”
What do you think is the biggest misconception about AI in the workplace?
Ilija:
“That it replaces people. The truth is, AI augments people. The most successful organizations will be those that see AI as a teammate, not a threat.”
Ilija’s perspective shows exactly what this moment is about: moving past fear and into action. He’s not waiting for AI to “settle down.” He’s learning it now, using it now, and preparing for what comes next.
